Lotus flower Lantern Making

The lotus flower is a well-known symbol of Buddhism. This flower has two meanings.
First, the lotus flower blossoms in mud ponds, but it is not tainted and keeps its purity always. It is like Buddha and Bodhisattva, who lived in the world but remaind pure.
Second, it bears a flower and fruit at the same time. It reflects the law of cause and effect. Therefore, when Buddhists act in everyday life, they keep in mind that their actions are followed by results.

Let's make lotus flower lantern..

1. One end of each paper lotus petal twist with some glue into a tip.
2. Start below the top of the frame but make sure that the first row of petals is high enough to hide the top of frame.
3. Start the second row of petals below the first, and make sure that the tips of the second row petals cover the bottom of the row above. Add one more row and the last row on the bottom for green petals. Paste the bottom row of green petals with the tips reaching downward(opposite side of pink petals).
